This row seemingly shaped the US Olympic basketball team. NBA’s most familiar face, LeBron James, declared he’d play in the Paris Olympics. This was unexpected, as he had missed past Olympic games. It’s thought that James and other NBA big names wanted to bring back the USA’s basketball honor after Lyles’ challenge.

No doubt, many see the USA basketball team as top contenders for the gold at the Paris Olympics 2024. Winning won’t be easy, as there are hurdles to cross. Yet, with their skilled players and wealth of experience, the chance of them clinching the victory is significant.

We already know who they’ll face off against in the group stages, and it’s not a walk in the park for the USA. Their first match-up against Serbia

The USA’s Olympic start is a tough one: Serbia. Serbia’s leader is NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic. This game will be exciting! Jokic is big, skilled, and smart at basketball. He’s hard for any defense to play against. He scores, passes, and rebounds in a big way. This makes him an important player for any team.

The USA will need a specific strategy for Jokic. They have to shift efficiently, communicate on defense, and stop him in the paint. But, Serbia isn’t just Jokic. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nikola Milutinov are strong helpers. They make Serbia a strong opponent for the USA.

The first game for the USA will be telling. Will they handle Serbia’s early pressure? Can they play their own way? The answers will show how the USA’s Olympics will go.
